Extensive data exists that suggests persons with disabilities are likely to have limited educational and employment opportunities. Although the Americans with Disabilities Act assures equal opportunities in education and employment for disabled people, people with disabilities remain over represented among America’s poor and under educated. Economic instability is a reality for many people with disabilities. From housing costs to out of pocket medical expenses, people with disabilities are continually scrambling to remain financially afloat. This program serves to address the many financial needs of persons with physical disabilities. Disability Partnerships supports partnering with financial institutions to create opportunities for programs which may include scholarships, food insecurity, housing instability and financial planning.
