Affordable Accessible Housing
Disability Partnerships helps people with disabilities secure safe, accessible, and affordable places to live — and supports home modification where needed so homes work with you, not against you. Accessible housing is essential to independence, well-being, and community participation.
The Challenge
Severe shortage of accessible units: fewer than 5% of U.S. homes meet the accessibility needs of people with mobility disabilities.
High housing cost burden: many people with disabilities spend more than 30% of income on housing.
These gaps make finding affordable, accessible housing difficult for disabled individuals, families, and caregivers.
