Perneita Farrar
After an extensive career in professional training and public health, Perneita Farrar decided to apply to law school as an extension of her passion for health care legislation. While a law student, Perneita secured several internships and fellowship opportunities, including the U.S. Department of Justice, the Department of Navy, and the Office of the Public Defender. In 2020, she was selected as the MSBA Student Ambassador, where she was tasked with coordinating professional and networking events that connected law students with members of the bar association.
After graduating from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2022, she was a law clerk with the District Court of Baltimore City. After passing the bar, she worked as an Assistant County Attorney before launching a solo practice in 2024. Her practice focuses on estate planning and elder law, where she helps clients create effective estate plans, as well as probate administration, and Medicaid asset planning. Perneita brings her prior career experience in public service and training to ensure that her clients are educated on the importance of protecting their assets while also promoting generational wealth. In 2025, Perneita joined a family law firm as “Of Counsel” to help the firm develop a Trust & Estates practice area.
While building her solo practice in Anne Arundel County, Perneita has leveraged many opportunities to connect with mentors, join practice area workgroups, and network with her peers for support. In 2025, she completed a fellowship in the Pro Bono Resource Center's Professional Leadership Academy, where she continued her legal training and practical courtroom skills by representing clients at in court and pro bono clinics in the community. Perneita is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), and the Alliance of Black Women’s Attorneys. Perneita has been featured in several publications such as the Baltimore Magazine and the Maryland Bar Journal.
